Online Streaming Radio HelpAAC+ is a cutting-edge way to listen to online streaming radio that provides excellent sound quality at lower bitrates than you would need for comparable quality from MP3. Learn more about why AAC+ is the future or online streaming radio. Ready to try it? Click here to listen to our new AAC+ stream for high-speed internet users. To submit a question, e-mail wuevfm@evansville.edu.
Q: What do I need to listen to the AAC+ stream?A: Not all software supports AAC+ yet, but there's probably one program that will run on your comptuer which will allow you to listen to our AAC+ stream. Below is a list of software that is available on each platform that is capable of tuning into AAC+ streams. Before you can listen to the AAC+ stream, you must have one of these programs on your system so that it can play back an AAC+ formatted stream.
Please note that to install software on you computer, you will need to have the correct permissions to do so. You may have to contact your systems administrator to find out if you have permission to install this software. Q: The streaming page doesn't work. What should I do?A: Currently, our AAC+ streaming page requires that you install the Orban AAC+ plugin for Windows Media Player in order to play the instant you open the page. But, you can still listen to our AAC+ stream if you have one of the media player applications listed above. If you already have a program that can open AAC+ streams, then simply click on the AAC+ listen live link, and open the .pls file in a compatable player. Q: Why is the stream skipping or dropping out?A: We are still experimenting with the AAC+ stream, so we may run into technicial difficulties while we're still finding the optimal configuration for everything. For the best streaming experience, you must be able to download a continuous stream at 64 kb/s. Therefore, our AAC+ stream is not suitable for those on dial-up connections (which generally can only download up to 24 kb/s). If your connection is not capable of downloading the stream, then try the MP3 stream for dial-up users instead. If you keep running into issues, please contact us at wuevfm@evansville.edu with a description of your problem and the steps you have taken to attempt to correct it, and we will do our best to help resolve your issue. | ||||||||||||||||||
